Now Here's the Fox in Charge of the Chicken Coop

U.S. spending millions to see if herbs truly work

When it comes to herbal supplements, I think they should use the same standard that they do for drugs---if it doesn't kill you then it's safe.

This article is so biased it isn't funny. The title isn't even right. They are not spending millions to see if herbs work, they are spending millions to see if they can find some excuse to take them out of circulation so they can force people to go to the doctor and get expensive drugs from the drug companies.

The supplement companies are cutting into the profits of the drug companies and they don't like it. It has very little to do with "do they work?"

This whole issue really upsets me because I rely heavily on supplements. For example, if I was not able to get my Curcumin because the FDA decided to knock it off the market, I would be in huge world of hurt. It's the only thing that has worked for my tendonitis. Physical therapy only made matters worse. Steriod injections stopped the pain for three weeks and made me sick for three weeks as well. The pain was back after that. The side effects were worse than the pain in my opinion. Curcumin has been the only thing that has taken the pain away and helped me get the use of my arms/hands back. And there are no side effects unless I take it on an empty stomach, then a bit of nausea, but as long as I have a full stomach I'm good to go.

What they are going to do if they start putting supplement companies out of business is make it so responsible people who want to take care of themselves naturally without unwanted side effects won't be able to and health care is going to get harder and harder to access because everyone will be forced to go to the doctor for everything. Doctors are leaving because of Obama care...retiring as fast as they can...there will be a shortage of doctors and an over abundance of patients and that equals horrible health care and a sicker population because people won't have the options of using supplements to take care of what could be minor issues but will require doctor care if the resources are taken away or so regulated it requires doctor appointment to get them (if indeed a doctor would prescribe them)
